SYST 300 - Acoustic and Audio Systems

Course Description
Learners will be introduced to the principles of sound as a transmission media. They will gain an understanding of the perception of sound and the aspect of hearing (psychoacoustics). Physical factors of acoustics in room construction and design will be analyzed, including reverberation. Topics covered include: audio signal processing, broadcast camera audio set-up, and an examination of microphone and loudspeaker transducer theory. Hands-on labs will emphasize acoustic measurements, digital recording, and troubleshooting at system and component levels.
