PWEN 220 - Power Engineering Fourth Class


Course Description:
If you wish to work with high pressure boilers, you need to obtain your Power Engineering Fourth Class Certification. This can be achieved by taking Power Engineering Fourth Class Part A and Part B in the class room or online by Distance Learning. There are two Parts. Part A must be completed in order to write your Government Part A exam. Part B must be completed in order to write your Government Part B exam. For full government certification as a Fourth Class Power Engineer, you must also have 6 months of related work experience in the field or successfully complete our Power Engineering Fourth Class 200 Hours Lab. Students can complete the SAIT course without having any work experience. If you are located outside of Alberta, please contact your provincial boiler’s branch. 2 Multiple Choice Final Examinations: 3.5 hours/each

Part B

Prime Movers & Engines, Pumps & Compressors, Lubrication, Electricity, Controls & Instrumentation, Heating Boilers, Steam & Water Heating Systems, Heating Boiler & Heating System Controls, Auxiliary Building Systems, Vapour Compression Refrigeration, Absorption Refrigeration, Air Conditioning, Air Conditioning Systems, Boiler Maintenance, Types of Plants
