ELEC 124 - Electrical Engineering Basics

Course Description:
This course teaches you how to analyze the three-phase three-wire system and three-phase loads.  You will learn the basic concepts of magnetism and AC power relationships, power, power factor and apparent power in both balanced and unbalanced three-phase circuits.  After completing this course you will be able to explain superposition, Thevenin and maximum power theorems.  The lab component supplements the theory by using lab connections and computer simulations to illustrate operational and analytical concepts and helps you to apply your knowledge of three Phase Wye and Delta connected circuits.

Understanding the basics of Electrical Engineering will prepare students with an engineering background for the start of Power Systems Certificate of Achievement.
