ENGL 001 - General English Communications I

Course Description:
This course is based on the descriptors and performance indicators of Canadian Language Benchmark 1 and 2.  It is designed to provide you with an opportunity to learn about and explore the Canadian culture through fun and exciting activities.  The course integrates seven language skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking, grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation).  The four modules are related to community settings, so that you can begin to develop the language you need for effective communication in English-speaking, multicultural contexts.  In addition, you will have opportunities to learn language related to shopping, eating out, visiting a doctor, and talking about weather, family, travel and leisure activities.
