Program Description

As production from conventional sources continues to decline, the energy sector is looking more and more toward shale gas and tight oil and gas to keep up with rising demand. It is well known that the technologies needed to exploit these resources require a large amount of water. This program is designed to provide a foundational overview of the water management cycle within the petroleum industry. It will focus specifically on the interdependence of activities in petroleum resource development and will give students proficiency in a number of basic water management skills. If you are taking the full certificate program, we recommend you take these courses in the order listed below.
