CAMP 129 - Baking, Intermediate (Gr. 7-12)


Course Description
Combine the science of baking with your own creativity. For those already somewhat kitchen savvy, delve into both sweet and savoury baking. Use yeast to make basic breads, explore the art of decorating and start working with chocolate.
Essential skills: Numeracy, Reading, Working with others

DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS: All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the kitchens. Long pants are required to be worn in the kitchens; no shorts, capris or low-cut tops. Campers are not permitted to wear nail polish for the duration of this camp. Campers with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.

SAFETY NOTE: Campers are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the camp.

ALLERGY ALERT: Camp includes the preparation of foods containing nuts. SAIT’s kitchens and bakeries process nuts and other allergens.

  • For youth entering grades 7 through 12 in September.
  • Register using your child’s name.
  • Registration for camp and lunch closes at 12:00pm (MST) on the Thursday before the camp begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
  • Camps run from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
