SCMP 149 - Map IT! (Gr. 7-12)

Course Description
Expand your understanding and fascination of the tools and technology behind Google Earth, satellite navigation and route planning by learning about Geographical Information Systems (GIS). Explore the field of “geoinformatics” and its integration in daily life, be captivated by our UAV demo, build your own mini-world with our augmented reality sandbox and be victorious in our geo-caching scavenger hunt. As a final project, learn how to use GPS software to collect and plot geo-data while building your own map.
Essential skills: Digital technology, Document use, Numeracy

NOTE: Basic computer skills required.

For youth entering grades 7 through 12 in September.
Register using your child’s name.
Registration for camp and lunch closes at 12:00pm (MST) on the Thursday before the camp begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
Camps run from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
