GFTG 102 - Gasfitter Upgrading

Course Description
Gasfitter Upgrading incorporates Gasfitter (A) subject material, providing an overview of gasfitting while concentrating on controls, appliances and equipment with inputs over 400 MBH. A solid basis in gasfitting fundamentals and extensive use of the fuel gas codes provides the knowledge and skills necessary to stay abreast of rapidly changing technology within the industry.

This course is recommended for the Plumber, Steamfitter/Pipefitter, Refrigeration or Sheet Metal Mechanic with a provincial or Red Seal journeyperson certificate who wishes to upgrade to the Gasfitter (A) qualification. The training combines classroom theory, home study and practical applications using our fully equipped gas shop.

Note:

Eligibility requirements for the Gasfitter (A) qualification, including work experience and examination, reside with Alberta Apprenticeship and Industry Training.
