SCMP 167 - Healthy Kitchen Creations (Gr. 5-6) Course Description
Get back to the basics as we explore how our food gets to the fridge, pantry and dinner table. Learn about nutrition, visit local growers and producers-and, most importantly, eat! Use local ingredients to plan, prepare and share dishes that will combine all your knowledge into a nutritious masterpiece!
Essential skills: Continuous learning, Reading, Thinking
Dress code requirements: All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the kitchens. Long pants are required to be worn in the kitchens; no shorts, capris or low-cut tops. Campers are not permitted to wear nail polish for the duration of this camp. Campers with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.
Safety note: Campers are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the camp.
Allergy alert: Camp includes the preparation of foods containing nuts, fish and seafood.
Field trip: Subject to availability.
- For youth entering grades 5 or 6 in September.
- Register using your child’s name.
- Registration for this program closes at 12:00pm (MST) on the Thursday before the program begins. Late registrations will not be accepted..
