SCMP 150 - Exploring Trades, Decorate My Space (Gr. 7-12)


Course Description
Get creative with your own space! Use techniques like mixing and applying paint, hanging wallpaper and treating a variety of surfaces to learn what it takes to be in the painter and decorator industry. Explore colour theory and how different combinations can create unique visual effects, and bring new life to your space. Throughout the week you will work on developing a decorating storyboard using floor plans, and your own to-scale models!
ESSENTIAL SKILLS: Reading, Thinking, Working with others

DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS: All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the shop. Steel-toe boots are preferred but not required. Long pants are required to be worn in the shop; no shorts, capris, low-cut tops, or loose clothing that could get caught in power tools. Coveralls or clothes that can get dirty are preferred. Campers with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.

SAFETY NOTE: Eye and hearing protection will be provided. Campers are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the camp.

Additional Requisite Information:
Register using your child’s name. Registration for camp and lunch closes at 12:00pm (MT) on the Thursday before the camp begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
