SCMP 146 - Healthy Kitchen Creations (Gr. 7-12)


Course Description
Healthy eating is not just a trend - it’s a way of life. Get hands-on cooking experience in the Nutrition for Healthy Lifestyles lab preparing delicious, nutritious dishes to take home and share with your family and friends! Review the basics of nutrition, modify recipes to be gluten-free, vegan or low sugar and grocery shop on a budget.
Essential skills: Continuous learning, Reading, Thinking

Dress code requirements: All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the kitchens. Long pants are required to be worn in the kitchens; no shorts, capris or low-cut tops. Campers are not permitted to wear nail polish for the duration of this camp. Campers with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.

Safety note: Campers are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the camp.

Allergy alert: Camp includes the preparation of foods containing nuts, fish and seafood.

  • For youth entering grades 7 through 12 in September.
  • Register using your child’s name.
  • Registration for camp and lunch closes at 12:00pm (MST) on the Thursday before the camp begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
  • Camps run from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
