HEMA 001 - Hematology Course Description Hematology provides an introduction to the composition and function of blood cells, hematopoiesis, erythrocyte and leukocyte metabolism, production and destruction, classification of anemias and leukemias, etiology and laboratory findings. Mechanisms and tests of hemostasis in normal versus patients with hemorrhagic or thrombotic diseases are also studied.This course is recognized by the Canadian Society for Medical Laboratory Science (CSMLS) as an approved refresher course.
