ELTR 101 - Electronic Basics-Canadian Fire Alarm Association Course Description In this CFAA approved electronics course you will study the principles of electronics as they relate to life safety systems, including fire alarms and building automation systems.
Examine both analogue and digital systems and their appropriate applications. Learn to read electronic diagrams and understand basic electronic theory as it applies to electron and current flow, impedance, inductance, capacitance, and modulation. Understand rectification of AC power; the theory and operation of charging circuits; batteries; voltage regulation and how to test these systems. We will also explore and identify amplifier circuits, op amps, switching circuits, and other electronic circuits.

Additional Requisite Information: It is recommended for students to either have an electrical background or have taken ELEC-200 prior to taking this course.
