ELEC 133 - Electrical Fundamentals Course Description This course covers the alternating current theory as applied to single-phase and three-phase circuits. You will learn about the circuit analysis and network theorems applied to theoretical and practical AC circuits, three phase Wye and Delta circuit configurations, watt meter power measurement methods and power factor correction. You will also learn how to analyze the single-phase three wire system, three phase loads, loop and mesh analysis. You will be able to compute the power, power factor, apparent power in both unbalanced and balanced three-phase circuits. In practical lab, you will apply the techniques used to measure power in both single and three-phase systems, solve multiple source circuits with source models and superposition theorem, design a circuit to provide maximum power to a load and analyze DC and AC networks using Thevenin or Norton equivalent circuit.
