CPNT 146 - Routing and Switching Essentials


Course Description
This course describes the fundamental switching and routing principles and the operations of routers and switches. Learn how to configure basic routing protocols and switched network functionality in a small-to-medium sized network. By the end of this course you will be able to implement and troubleshoot virtual LANs (VLAN), VTP, inter-VLAN routing, static routes, RIP, single-area OSPF, Access List (ACL), DHCP and Network Address Translation (NAT) in both IPv4 and IPv6 networks.

This course is offered in a hybrid learning environment and students will be expected to do a considerable amount of work outside of the class using online resources. A significant portion of class time will be devoted to lab work and there will be additional lab time available on weekends.
