CMPN 329 - Windows Server Active Directory

Course Description
This course is designed for those with a high level of comfort navigating a Windows Operating System who want to learn the techniques required to plan, design, implement and administer Windows Server Active Directory services.

Beyond installing, configuring, designing and testing Windows Server 2008 & 2012 Active Directory (AD) and DNS you will manage directory objects and resources (users, groups, computers, printers - manually/scripting, roaming profiles, home directories). We will cover AD security (NTFS/share permissions, AD permissions, authentication, auditing, security configuration/analysis) as well as AD sites, AD replication and Group Policy (GP). From defining, testing and troubleshooting GP, we’ll tackle GP permissions, login scripts, remote desktop management and deploying applications.

Other Active Directory learning topics include maintenance and data recovery, creating trusts, upgrading Windows domains, Read-Only Domain Controllers, Windows Deployment Services and understanding how AD interacts with other directories and applications.

This course is part of SAIT’s Windows Server Certificate of Achievement.
