PWEN 003 - Fifth Class Power Engineering Course Description This course prepares students to take the Provincial Fifth Class Power Engineering exam or the equivalent low-pressure heating plant certificate exam in their province. You can apply to take the examination after the six months of related operating experience has been completed, as outlined in the engineers’ regulations. Please contact your provincial Boiler’s Branch for the number of months that may be required. Contact information can be found on www.sopeec.org. Fifth Class certificates are currently issued in Alberta, Manitoba, Yukon, Northwest Territories and Saskatchewan. Other provinces may recommend this course as study material for Heating Plant Certificate Examinations other than Fifth Class.
