ELAW 105 - Navigating the Employment Relationship Course Description This course will identify several legal and management issues and practices that employers should keep in mind during any ongoing employment relationship. You will discuss the need for a well-drafted employment policy manual, which is an effective way for an employer to provide information to employees in a convenient, centralized location and communicate an organization’s expectations in various areas.
You will review common workplace policies, including probationary periods, benefit entitlement, disciplinary procedures, sick leave policy, harassment policy and confidentiality. By letting employees know what is expected of them and what they can expect from the employer in return, it will help reduce the potential for dissatisfaction and disputes.
