INSP 127 - Ultrasonics Level I Course Description This first level ultrasonics course is a part of the Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) Inspection Foundations program. Learn to analyze the properties of sound and sound transference through various mediums, while covering related topics including: wave propagation, generation of ultrasonic waves, test equipment and test methods. Instruction is also provided in calibration, performance tests, weld inspection, specification and interpretation of ultrasonic test results.

Additional Requisite Information: Students must have successfully completed Grade 10 Math or equivalent.
If students cannot produce credentials to demonstrate math proficiency, they must write the Math 10-C exam at SAIT. To book this test, please contact the SAIT Testing Centre at testing@sait.ca.
At least three months field experience in ultrasonic inspection is recommended. For inquiries for CGSB certification, contact Natural Resources Canada. Learners must provide their own calculator with scientific functions which will be used throughout the course. Learners must supply their own safety boots for the lab component of this course. Textbooks are included in the course costs.
