CADD 111 - CADD Fundamentals

Course Description
This foundations course offers students an introduction to drafting fundamentals, reading blueprints and an overview of computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) basics and 3D visualization.  You will learn design basics starting with sketching and begin to apply engineering concepts in the AutoCAD software.  These concepts include the construction of scaled multi-view drawings essential to describing design and proportion.  Application of geometry and scale enables 3D visualization. Together these components make a skill set that is in demand in various industries including the architectural, mechanical, civil and piping fields.

This preparatory course provides students with the fundamental tools involved in development of computer-aided design, drafting and modeling in two-dimensional (2D) and three-dimensional (3D) project environments. Participants completing this introduction and wanting to pursue a more intensive course may progress to AutoCAD I, Revit Architecture Fundamentals or Revit MEP Fundamentals.
