INSP 151 - Radiography Level II


Course Description
This second level radiography course covers advanced theoretical knowledge and practical skills required by Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) professionals for technique development, film interpretation, densitometry and sensitometric curves. Learn how to differentiate between reading, interpreting and evaluating radiographs. Lab exercises include x-ray of castings and forgings in a lab setting. You will also be introduced to digital and computed radiography, plus alternate radiographic sources and techniques.

Additional Requisite Information:
At least one year field experience in radiography inspection is highly recommended. For inquiries for CGSB certification, contact Natural Resources Canada. Learners must provide their own calculator with scientific functions which will be used throughout the course. Learners must bring their own safety boots for the lab component of this course Textbooks are included in the course costs.

  • Radiography Level I training is required (INSP 201, INSP 111 or INSP 129).  If you have completed your Level I Radiography from another training institute, please call 403-284-8641 to confirm you have fulfilled the pre-requisite for this course.  Failing to contact the department may result in losing your seat.
