ARCH 109 - San Francisco Architecture Study Tour Course Description This study tour allows SAlT’s Architectural Technology (AT) students to experience world famous architecture and design up close, with the assistance and expertise of an instructor and a professional tour guide by their side.
The learning that takes place will build on the existing AT curriculum and set them up for success as they enter the second year of the diploma.
San Francisco has a unique architectural landscape that has been defined through interesting and challenging topography, geography and a tumultuous history. San Francisco has a very dynamic and eclectic urban footprint characterized by a mix of Victorian and modern architecture and culturally diverse neighbourhoods.
Students will get up close and witness San Francisco architecture through various walking and cycling tours, as well they will get to experience the vibrant neighbourhoods for which San Francisco is known. This trip offers an affordable and safe way for students to expand upon their curriculum and to see and understand a new and exciting urban environment from a social and cultural perspective.
