INST 149 - Industrial Automation Essentials
Course Description
This two day overview is geared towards non-technical and entry level technical personnel who work either directly or indirectly with personnel involved in Industrial Automation. Automation systems such as Programmable Logic Controllers, Distributed Control Systems, and SCADA systems exist in most industrial plants and facilities including oil and gas pipelines and facilities. This course provides a high level overview of the history of automation and the development of automation systems. After taking this course, the learner will better understand the language associated with automation systems and be better prepared to engage in conversations with technical personnel.
