LDSH 165 - History of Leadership Studies

Course Description
This unit explores how the observation and study of leadership differs depending upon the time and place in which such study took place. This course has an overall emphasis on transformational leadership and on the exercise of leadership as the driver of progress for individuals, a group, a community, or society. This unit seeks to answer the questions, “When did this view of leadership emerge?” and “How has this view of leadership changed over time?” As the readings will illustrate, this transformational focus and a focus on servant leadership to benefit others, groups, communities, societies, and the world appears in very early writing on leadership.
