AERO 100 - Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems - Professional Operations and Planning Course Description
This Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems (RPAS) ground school course will provide you with the professional skills to plan, conduct, and complete complex operations within Canadian airspace. Current and prospective commercial and civil RPAS pilots will learn effective and safe operations that incorporate mandatory knowledge requirements of TP 15263.
You will learn about the RPAS best practices that involve:
- Mission planning
- Dispatch
- Pre-flight operations
- Normal flight operations
- Emergency flight operations
- Post-flight operations
- Radio operations
- Business considerations
You will be eligible to apply for the Restricted Operator Certificate - Aeronautical (ROC-A).
This course will prepare you to write the TC RPAS exam required by CAR Part IX.
Note: this course does not include flight training.

Additional Requisite Information: This course may include independent learning hours in addition to instructional time. Upon successful completion of the course, you will receive a SAIT Certificate of Course Completion.
