EMRG 003 - Advanced Emergency Response


Course Description
Advanced Emergency Response focuses on training required to work in the field of prehospital care as an Emergency Medical Responder (EMR). Topics covered include ambulance operations, patient assessment, management of trauma and medical emergency situations, mental and physical fitness, as well as professional requirements to become an EMR. This course also prepares learners to apply for the provincial EMR designation through Alberta College of Paramedics.

Admission Requirements:

  • Standard First Aid with Basic Life Support Provider. It is
    recommended that applicants take SAIT’s CPRS 006 - Standard First Aid with Basic Life Support Provider course, or equivalent.
  • Students who wish to register for this course must first complete a selection form online. The selection process will include submission of high school transcripts as well as skill testing questions related to advanced first aid.

  • For enrollment cancellation, SAIT requires a notice of at least 10 full business days prior to the course start date.
