ARCH 260 - Architectural History: Theory & Design Course Description Architectural History: Theory and Design is structured along a chronological and thematic approach to architectural history. Students will examine established chronological architectural periods in the history of Western Civilization, from the prehistoric world through Egyptian, Greek, Byzantine, Romanesque, Gothic, Renaissance, Baroque, Classical Revival, Industrial and Modern Eras, exploring architectural elements and buildings of various periods, and compare the various architectural periods. Students will also evaluate the work of a contemporary architect based on their ideological historic roots and modern day significance and influence.
