GEOL 306 - Applications in Petroleum Geology


Course Description
This course applies geoscience principles to the exploration and exploitation of conventional and unconventional oil and gas fields. The foci are the Western Canada Sedimentary Basin, offshore Canada and around the world. Through participation in a team based project the student will demonstrate how an oil and gas company develops a successful play.Geology, geophysics, reservoir engineering and economics all play a significant role in classroom exercises.
