MEDL 380 - Transfusion Medicine 2 Course Description Discover new knowledge and the skills required to work in the Transfusion Medicine laboratory. Through course modules, class discussions, textbook and web link review and by performing lab exercises, you will develop the skills and confidence to identify and analyze antigen antibody reactions. Particular emphasis will be placed on the clinically significant blood group systems (other than ABO, Rh and Lewis), blood donation and component preparation, quality assurance, transfusion reactions, autoimmune hemolytic anemias, hemolytic disease of the newborn, ABO discrepancies and antibody detection.
