CIVL 2010 - Structures I

Course Description
This course provides you with an overview of structural analysis. You will be introduced to the different types of structures and the roles of structural analysis and design in construction projects. You will compute reactions, shear forces, axial forces, bending moments, and deflections of determinate and indeterminate structures. You will apply influence lines to determine the effects of moving loads on structural members. You will study methods of analysis such as double integration and moment distribution. You will also identify structural systems and use computer software to analyze structural models.
