PRAC 391 - Broadcast News Practicum

Course Description
PRAC 391 is primarily a four-week, “real-world” experiential course conducted off campus at a participating radio or television newsroom. It provides learners with a realistic taste of what working in the industry is like. Practicums are typically done in the areas of radio reporting and writing, television reporting, television production assistance, and public affairs research. Since every practicum is individually arranged, and usually takes place somewhere other than Calgary, the course is conducted on an individual contract basis between the student, SAIT, and the host station supervisor at the participating station.
