PTOV 120 - The Business of Oil and Gas

Course Description
Developed with input from industry and regulatory experts, SAIT Polytechnic’s The Business of Oil and Gas course is a terrific follow-up to our very successful Petroleum Overview (PTOV-116) course. Where the Petroleum Overview introduces class participants to the technical aspects of the industry, this course examines how the business processes work together to create a very dynamic part of the Canadian economy.

For technical and non-technical participants alike, you will receive an in-depth view of the inner workings of an exploration and production company working in Canada’s resource-rich western provinces. From setting the explorationists free to developing a play through drilling, completion and producing the well, this course will complete the picture of how this industry works. Included will be interactions within a company regarding joint ventures, engineering, land, accounting, marketing and corporate relations.
