LDSH 158 - Personal Leadership Philosophy Course Description Developing a personal philosophy of leadership means, first and foremost, thinking deeply about the subject. The Classic Case, Leadership Profile, Readings, Film Studies, as well as the assessment exercises in this unit will focus on the many different facets of leadership, styles of leadership, and tasks of leadership. To develop a personal philosophy of leadership, you must also probe your own assumptions about leadership. Self-awareness is essential for effective interaction with others and it will ultimately enhance your flexibility to make contributions in a variety of situation. Awareness of your personal philosophy (and then through your work in subsequent units, your personal vision and values) will give you confidence in your future by helping you to determine the leadership approaches to take to achieve your goals, work collaboratively and effectively in groups, and apply your philosophy to engage in organizations and communities.
