SCMP 129 - Exploring Wood Trades, Introduction (Gr. 7-12) Course Description Explore a career in construction wood trades. Learn the safe use of hand and power tools while making and personalizing your own projects from wood. Gain an understanding of construction wood trades and take home the final results to wow your family and friends.

DRESS CODE REQUIREMENTS: All participants are required to wear closed-toe shoes with a good tread; no sandals or open-toe shoes permitted in the shop. Steel-toe boots are preferred but not required. Long pants are required to be worn in the shop; no shorts, capris, low-cut tops, or loose clothing that could get caught in power tools. Coveralls or clothes that can get dirty are preferred. Participants with long hair should ensure that they bring hair elastics to tie back their hair.
SAFETY NOTE: Eye and hearing protection will be provided. Participants are required to adhere to the safety precautions outlined by the instructors; safety infractions may lead to removal from the program. Participants will need working knowledge of basic power tools to safely and accurately complete the projects.
- For youth entering grades 7 through 12 in September.
- Register using your child’s name.
- Registration for camp and lunch closes at 12:00pm (MST) on the Thursday before the camp begins. Late registrations will not be accepted.
- Camps run from 9:00am - 4:00pm.
