EMED 004 - Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider - Renewal


Course Description
Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider - Renewal is for healthcare providers working in a hospital or non-hospital setting who wish to review and update their skills and knowledge regarding cardiopulmonary arrest in children and infants.

Technical Requirements
Course Requisite:

  • Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Healthcare Provider (Level C) CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation) taken within the past 12 months, and current Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada PALS (pediatric advanced life support) Provider (within 2 years of date of issue), and
  • Health professional registration or student status as an MD, DDS, RN, EMT-P, ACP, RT, or Military QL-5 or above.

Please note that only the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada Healthcare Provider Level C card meets the pre-requisite. Cards from other providers such as Red Cross or St. John Ambulance do not meet the pre-requisite for this course.  Additionally, there is no longer a grace period on PALS cards for PALS renewal courses.

  • Course materials and GST are included in the course fee.
  • Transfers, cancellations, or refunds will only be processed if notice is received 10 full business days prior to the course start date.
  • Administration fees and course materials are non-refundable.

Students are expected to complete the pre-course checklist and self-assessment prior to the start of the course. It is recommended that students review and study any area identified for remediation by this self-assessment test. Study time is recommended prior to the course start date.
