TECH 283 - Gibson Edmonton Lab Tech 1 Course Description Petroleum laboratory technologists (Lab Tech 1) work in high-volume oil production / refinery or pipeline company laboratories, as well as in research labs and for scientific supply companies. Hydrocarbon laboratory technologists work in laboratory environments where they may spend a considerable amount of time standing or sitting and performing tasks that may be repetitive. They must observe safety precautions to reduce the risk of exposure to dangerous chemical liquids and vapors.
