ELEC 134 - Electricity Market Fundamentals

Course Description
Taught with an industry perspective and with special emphasis on the Alberta system, this electricity market fundamentals course will provide participants with an overview of the physical, operational and regulatory aspects of the electricity sector.

You will learn the rationale, development and functioning of competitive wholesale and retail energy markets, while appreciating the linkages between the physical system and the energy and ancillary services markets. We will also cover trading and marketing strategies employed by market participants.
