PWEN 109 - First Class Power Engineering B3


Course Description
This 1st Class Power Engineering course provides you with the supplemental education you may need to be successful in writing your Government Exam for B3.

1st Class Power Engineering B3 covers the following topics:

  • Project Management
  • Maintenance Management Practices
  • Boiler Repairs
  • Pressure Vessel and Piping Repairs
  • Non Destructive Examination
  • Rotating Equipment Maintenance
  • Rotating Equipment Monitoring

The course includes one final exam. You have 4 months to complete this course.

PWEN 109 alone cannot be used towards any credit towards work experience. You must complete all 8 sections (A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, and B4) in order to receive credit towards work experience. If you are seeking credit in lieu of work experience, please contact your provincial boilers’ branch to ensure that our courses are accepted. Contact info can be found on SOPEEC.org.

PWEN 109 alone does not allow students to receive a SAIT certificate. You must complete all 8 sections (A1, A2, A3, A4, B1, B2, B3, and B4) in order to receive the SAIT certificate for your learning.

To register you must be a holder of a Provincial Second Class Certificate or equivalent.  It is recommended that students have a minimum of Grade 11 Math, Physics and English.

It is recommended that students have a minimum Grade 11 Math, Physics and English. 

Note:  Must be a holder of a Second Class Provincial Certificate or Equivalent.
