PWEN 005 - Fourth Class Power Engineering Lab Course Description Gain valuable hands on instruction in boiler construction and design, parts and fittings, operations, feedwater treatment, piping and valves, prime movers, pumps and compressors, controls and instrumentation, heating boilers, heating systems and heating boiler controls. We’ll also cover compression refrigeration systems, psychometrics of air, boiler maintenance, electricity, and you’ll learn to operate a zeolite softener, the Coppus Turbine and generator unit and variable speed pumps.
Students are required to take a Safety Orientation course (SAFE-160) on the first day of class.
