INST 129 - Data Management Course Description This course provides an insight into all aspects of data management tools used in production and plant processing including the operation of Electronic Flow Measurement (EFM) and the volumetric data produced by it. The methods and tools used in field data capture include software, circular gas charts and log books. Truck tickets will also be examined in detail and their role as a production volume tool. Knowledge of this will enable learners to better understand the volume value chain as the volume data is gathered and processed. After completing this course, you will know about the advantages and disadvantages of using an EFM device, the role of a Field Data Capture (FDC) system in the gathering of field production data, the key components of gas chart measurement and the purpose and uses of truck tickets and log books in month-end accounting. You will also have a clear understanding of the purpose and role of the Production Accounting system in gathering, compiling and reporting volumes measured in operations.
