CBMK 102 - Woodworking with Hand Tools Course Description In Woodworking with Hand Tools, you will learn about basic hand tools and how they can be used to supplement machining practices. Grinding and honing of cutting edges to get a properly sharpened and “safe to use” tool will also be demonstrated.
Additional topics covered include; the proper use of hand planes to turn rough lumber into ready to use material, hand-cut dovetail joints and how different cutting tooth geometry affects hand saws and carries over to table saw blades and other machinery, and how to choose different corner joinery and lid style to create a toolbox that is uniquely yours.
Possible projects completed in this course may include:
- Wooden Mallet
- Dovetail Tray
- Japanese style tool box
