DSGN 001 - Electrical Design - Level I Course Description This first level electrical design course demonstrates the significance and requirements of design in the construction of buildings and facilities. You will learn theoretical and practical electrical design concepts and drafting techniques for commercial facilities, lighting and motor control applications.
Electrical Design training topics also include:
- How to interpret and draw electrical symbols
- Illumination design
- Choosing and protecting conductors
- Distribution systems
Completion of a major commercial electrical design project incorporates analysis, calculation and design competencies. Canadian Electrical Code requirements will be discussed in conjunction with the design project, and drawings will be completed using AutoCAD Release 2000 and an Auto Electric software package.
