RLOP 121 - Industrial Rail Operator Level I

Course Description
This industrial rail operator, or switchman’s, course is designed for operating employees and supervisors of an industrial switching facility who are not required to operate a locomotive or rail car mover.

Rail operator topics covered include: Switching Operations Fatalities Analysis (SOFA); Railcars; Riding and Crossing Over Cars; Basic Air Brakes and Hand Brakes; Track; Handling Switches and Derails; Switching; Canadian Railway Operating Rules (CROR) and Alberta Industrial Rail Operating Rules (IROR). Operating rules are site specific.
