BFIN 001 - Mortgages and the Real Estate Industry
Course Description
This course provides the real estate professional with an introduction to mortgages, focusing on what will often be the largest financial investment most consumers ever make. The material covers terminology for the residential mortgage industry, expectations of the real estate professional, legal obligations for lenders and borrowers, buyer qualification specifics and mortgage default insurance parameters. It will also identify the federal and provincial regulations that impact the real estate industry, discuss money laundering and steps in the foreclosure process if a borrower is not able to keep up their mortgage payments.
