WELD 008 - Natural Forms

Course Description
A forging workshop offered for students to discover how to make organic forms in iron. From shop examples made in the literal and abstract way, we will draw on inspiration to forge stems, leaves, flowers and other natural forms at the anvil. Those interested in sculpture as well as those interested in the utilitarian application of ironwork will benefit from this class. Personal expression will be encouraged, and we will end with a broad range of projects that students will keep. All levels welcome.

Required Materials
Students are required to have the following safety equipment: Flame retardent clothing - for example, 100% cotton denim. High top leather boots - preferably steel toe. Welding goggles, if you have them.
