ADPT 111 - UX Design Fundamentals Course Description: This workshop will introduce participants to the principles and practices of user experience (UX) design, outlining the foundations of user-centred design thinking as applied to digital products and services. Participants will work in small groups for a hands-on design session, collaborating to create a prototype of a simple app. Designs will then be shared and evaluated in a very basic ‘usability test.’
Learning Objectives:
- Define problem spaces and discover how to ideate, articulate, and defend solutions
- Understand how UX designers work with others on a product development team, such as product managers, developers, and visual designers
- Learn what hiring managers look for in UX candidates
- Produce and document personas, information architecture, user flows, and annotated wireframes
