GEOS 406 - Geospatial Project Foundations Course Description: This course introduces the learner to the foundation, history, development and application of GIS project management theory. Topics include: the GIS cycle, GIS project management concepts, proposal writing, project planning and management as well as methods for controlling and closing out projects.

Technical Requirements Technical Requirements for distance education students:
- Students are required to have a computer with Windows Operating System and also the computer must have the necessary system requirements (https://desktop.arcgis.com/en/system-requirements/latest/arcgis-desktop-system-requirements.htm) to run ArcGIS Software.
- Technical Support is not available for Mac users.
- Dual monitors are beneficial but not necessary.
- Computers should have microphones and speakers.
- Students completing this course will need access either to Microsoft Project, or an alternative piece of project management software.
Please note: Students accepted for the BGIS program need also to register for the co-requisite course Professional Communications (COMM-415).
