GEOS 410 - GIS Data Manipulation and Transformation Course Description: Managing core data is critical to the accurate integration, management, analysis and output of data in a GIS work environment. This course focuses on the fundamentals of managing and manipulating core data and how to troubleshoot problems. Topics include data security, data backup and archival procedures, metadata, data transformations, conversions and translations, survey and mapping systems as well as data generalization and filtering techniques.
