SYST 350 - Advanced Audio Systems

Course Description:
Learners will be introduced to the audio systems used in media and broadcast. Topics covered include the topology of audio metering, audio consoles, studio systems interfacing, proper techniques for studio wiring and grounding, digital audio and digital audio system interconnection. Learners will also be introduced to the functionality of digital audio recording, multi-channel sound, telephone interfaces, intercom systems, and ethernet audio. Learners will receive hands on experience in integrating digital, analog and computer based audio components into complete systems. They will be able to design, fabricate, install, configure, and align a studio/broadcast audio system.
