GEOS 457 - Cartography and Geovisualization Course Description: This course introduces the learner to thematic mapping, geographic visualization methods and geospatial analysis techniques commonly used by geographic information system (GIS) professionals to present geographic information. Topics include theories on presenting spatial information, design methodology and cartographic techniques such as bivariate, choropleth and dot mapping techniques as well as the creation of cartograms and map animations for the web.
